License Information:
According to Town of Wilton Chapter 53-6, all dogs 4 months of age or older must be licensed. To obtain a license for your dog, see the Wilton Town Clerk at the Town Hall on Traver Road. Proof of rabies immunization is required. A spay or neuter certificate will reduce the fee. A silver tag with an identification number will be issued at the time of licensing. This tag as well as the rabies tag must be worn on your dog’s collar at all times. It is also recommended that a personal ID tag with a phone number also be worn for easy identification should your animal be lost.
Fees are as follows:
Spayed female $ 5.00 per year
Neutered male $ 5.00 per year
Unspayed female $13.00 per year
Unneutered male $13.00 per year
Rabies Information:
All cats and dogs must be immunized against rabies. The Saratoga County Animal Shelter periodically sponsors rabies clinics. Please call for dates and times. Please report any possible contact with a rabid animal by you or your pet to either of the Dog Control Officers, the County Shelter, the NYS Police or the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Human health questions concerning a possible rabies contact should be directed to Pat Willson at the Saratoga County Department of Public Health at 584-7460.
