Biographical Information:
The position of Town Engineer was created by the Town Board in 1992. Our Town Engineer, Keith R. Manz, P.E., has been in this position since it was formed. He graduated from Cornell University in 1980 with a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He worked a dozen years in the private sector (consulting engineering and construction management firms) before coming to the Town. He received his professional engineering license (P.E.) in 1985.

Key responsibilities:
The Engineer is responsible for reviewing commercial and residential subdivision projects for the Planning Board, as well as inspecting the construction of these projects in the field. The Town Engineer oversees the Engineering & Building Departments. While the Building Department inspects the construction of the actual houses/buildings, the Town Engineer inspects the commercial sites and the pavement/drainage portion of subdivision Town roads. He also manages and coordinates special public works and engineering related projects as directed by the Town Board. He also provides technical engineering advice to the various master plan/rezoning committees created by the Town Board.
