Town Historian - Historic Preservation Board
The Town Board for the Town of Wilton extends this introduction to the Historic Preservation Board.
The purpose of the Historic Preservation Board is to identify and preserve historic structures within the town. Recognizing the rich history of the Town of Wilton and working to preserve, protect and enhance continued use of historic structures will serve the best interests of all Wilton townspeople. It is the intent of the Board to promote the use of historic landmarks which reflect the cultural, social, economic, political and architectural history of the town. The Board will also be able to safeguard the rights of property owners and stabilize and improve property values. In so doing, the Board will foster civic pride, strengthen the economy and protect and enhance the appeal of living in Wilton for residents, tourists and visitors.
